Lego® Therapy Groups
Our Lego® therapy groups incorporate evidence-informed play-based therapy that supports children's social communication.
Lego® therapy is a strengths-based program that works by teaching the participant observation and adaptability skills rather than rote language or a checklist of social information. The participants learn to look to each other for information, support and build relationships in a safe and respectful environment.
This is a program for children aged 5-10 years (approximately) who experience challenges building friendships, interacting with peers and working as a team. Children will be matched into small groups of 3-6 children based on age and social communication challenges.
It is important that your child is matched with other children in a group that will optimise their opportunities to work towards their goals. A brief 15-minute zoom intake session with our psychologist will help us to find a group that best fits your child's needs. If your child misses out on being matched with a group at this time, there may be opportunities to join future groups.
Cost is $100 per session (total cost is $500 for the term). NDIS funding schemes available.
Facilitated by Provisional Psychologists Davinya Ravichandar and Therapy Assistants Bella Kende and Nicole Harrison at our Aberfeldie clinic
